Dr. Sasha Garver, flute

I will present a lecture on the similarities between flute and voice pedagogy at the 2009 Biennial Suzuki World Conference in Melbourne, Australia.

Erich Kunzel led the Macau Orchestra through a rousing concert of movie music and other favorites. My favorites were the theme from The Magnificent Seven by the great Elmer Bernstein, and the Celtic Whistle solo from Riverdance.

The Reed Flute Duo, with Dr. Adam Schwalje, bassoon and Dr. Sasha Garver, flute performed at the Monte Music Festival in Goa, India. We were scheduled to play one recital on 24 January 2009, but were surprised and honored to be asked to perform a reprise on the following night.

5-12 December, 2009: I went on tour with the Macau Orchestra to four cities in China. We performed Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5, Verdi’s overture to the Forza del Destino, and the Little Sisters Pipa Concerto, under the baton of Liu Jia.
